Artist's statement:
According to Tibetan Buddhists (of which I am neither) there are three levels of increasing awareness: 1) the recognition of cause and effect; 2) the convergence of opposites; and 3) the identity of the viewer and the field. These photographs represent 30-odd (very odd) years of 35mm Kodachrome photography. In reviewing some 25,000 slides I've found that too often I return to the same themes -- ferns, hibiscus, palm leaves, textures, horizontal lines, abstracts. Perhaps I'm trying to tell myself something.
