Artist's statement:

"The first virtue of painting is to be a feast for the eyes. Painting is only a bridge linking the painter's mind to that of the viewer." (Eugene DeLacroix)

Maria Aliotti-Ford grew up playing and helping at her parent's Ristorante Paolina's in the Carmel Craft Studios amidst artists, jewelers, and glassblowers. Influenced by her next door neighbor, Abel Warshawski, an early California painter, Maria developed her artistic calling and attended the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. Travel in Europe and Africa, marriage, a son, and a restaurant of her own have polished and focused Maria's ability to perceive the worth of the world around her; practice and discipline have turned her talent into art which, indeed, links her to the people who view her creations.
