Artist's statement:

Richard Blair has been in a photographic frenzy for most of his adult life. Born in New York City, he has been a professional photographer since 1969 when he moved to California. Natural and urban landscapes are his first love. He was park photographer for the National Park Service based in Yosemite Valley in the 1970’s. Richard works from a barn-like photography design studio on the top of Inverness Ridge which is open to the public.

Point Reyes Visions, and the new Visions Guidebook, were called “the best photography books ever done on Marin county” by Pacific Sun publisher Steve McNamara. The color book was the number-one best seller in Marin county for two years. His work has appeared in publications by the Sierra Club, MALT, the Trust for Public Lands, American Land Conservancy and Chronicle Books, plus many book covers, record albums, and annual reports. He has been photographing for 39 years.
