Artist's statement:
Using the traditional decaled dinner plate concept and marrying it with a surrealists' aesthetic, I have transformed the functional plate into a porthole to a new reality. Although each collaged picture plate is unique, natural themes and realistic images are manipulated to
challenge the audiences’ sense of reality.
The framed 3-dimensional giclée prints; taken from silk screened oil painting originals also demand the viewer to suspend their disbelief and look at the world through a surrealistic lens. And, no, the staples are not real.
