About the Artist:

Mark Schatz is a principal at Field Paoli Architects in San Francisco, specializing in the design of community buildings. Among the projects he has led are the Belmont and Saratoga Libraries, the Union City Sports Center, and Mill Valley Community Center. More recently, he led the project team for the master plan design of the new Emeryville Center of Community Life.

His interest in photography began while he was a student at Stanford University, where he studied with professors Matt Kahn, Leo Holub, and Robert Parker. His architectural images have been published in numerous editions of the Architecture Calendar published by the American Institute of Architects and he has won several prizes in their annual national photo competition. One of Mark's images also won a prize in the Kodak international photo competition.

Mark's work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in San Francisco and Novato, California, and he is proud to be a part of the celebrated group of artists chosen to show their work at Bucci's.
