The architecture is most dynamic when the sky is lit, but the light is too horizontal to penetrate the elevated plane of the city's rooftops. I chase the light around at these times of day, watching the city transform into film noir. There is an uneasy beauty in this urban landscape; its vibrant splendor is a quarrel between natural light and artificial structure. The streetlights are its intermediaries.
